Doncic received consecutive technicals after the referee didn't whistle a foul against him, and the Mavericks star complained about it.
"I deserved the first one. I'm not going to lie. But for sure, not the second one," Doncic said after the game. "I was really shocked when I was ejected."
Since the 2019-20 season, Doncic has received 56 technical fouls. He's tied for the NBA lead with Draymond Green.
Doncic finished the game with season-low 19 points (2/9 2PT, 3/8 3PT, 6/7 FT), 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 4 turnovers.
After Doncic's ejection, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd immediately approached referee Nick Buchert and was also ejected, as he had to be restrained by an assistant.
Kidd also refused to take questions from the reporters after the game, making a short statement.
"I already gave up money, so I don't want to give up anymore," Kidd said. "They were the better team tonight, and we'll go from there. Thanks for showing up."
The Mavericks played without four of their top nine scorers: Tim Hardaway Jr. (illness), Josh Green (sprained elbow), Maxi Kleber (torn hamstring), and Dwight Powell (bruised thigh). Then Dorrian Finney-Smith (adductor strain) was injured late in the third quarter.
With a 15-16 record, the Mavericks are 10th in the Western Conference.
