Ioannis Papapetrou was not registered for the ABA League match against FMP Beograd, and his availability for the upcoming EuroLeague match is in question.
Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade defeated FMP Beograd in the ABA League today. However, one notable player was not registered for the match.
Partizan played without Ioannis Papapetrou who has suffered a minor hip injury, Sportske reports.
"It was a precaution. They didn't practice for the last two days, so it was not possible for them to be on the team," head coach Zeljko Obradovic talked about missing Papapetrou and Aleksa Avramovic after the game. "We'll see tomorrow how they are, and then we will make decisions."
Additionally, James Nunnally played only 8 minutes due to a health issue as well.
"Some players had a day off before the game, six of them didn't practice. He came that day and felt very bad, he was sick. The medical team did everything to make him fit," Obradovic commented. "I had four players out of the team and planned that he would not play too much. He played eight minutes, so that must have had an impact as well."
Signed to be one of the main contributors, Papapetrou's season in Serbia has been underwhelming so far. The Greek forward is currently averaging just 4.4 points and 2.9 rebounds for 3.9 PIR in the EuroLeague.
His numbers are significantly better in the ABA League - 10 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists for 9.9 PIR.
This week, Partizan travel to Turkey to face off against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul in the EuroLeague. Papapetrou's availability for the match is currently in question.
