After suffering a serious injury during the summer, FC Barcelona's biggest star Nikola Mirotic has been sidelined for an extended period ever since.

According to the club's statement, the player's rehabilitation is progressing well. However, he will miss the Spanish Super Cup matches and the start of both Spanish Liga Endesa and the EuroLeague.
Mirotic suffered an Achilles injury in his left foot in the middle of July and is now undergoing treatment for it. Barcelona state that the star forward is constantly being evaluated along the process.
Before being sidelined, Mirotic was the leader of the roster, averaging 16.9 points and 5.2 rebounds on 57% shooting for a league-leading 20.1 PIR in the EuroLeague. He was named the MVP of the tournament for his performance after being the runner-up the year before.
Barcelona's first match in Liga Endesa comes next Friday, September 30th, against Gran Canaria. The Catalan powerhouse will start its EuroLeague season with a game at home on October 7th against Olympiacos Piraeus.
