According to the club's statement, the Monegasque team extended the contract of Alpha Diallo to a three-year deal. Donatas Urbonas from BasketNews reports that there is an NBA exit clause during each summer of the contract, starting with the year 2023.

"My choice to continue my career in Monaco is based on the desire to be competitive and to win titles in the French league but also in the Euroleague," Diallo told following the extension. "I think Monaco have a great chance of fighting for these titles, and that's why I signed again."

The 2.01-meter American player was one of the best EuroLeague rookies last season.

Diallo averaged 9.6 points (2FG: 53.7%; 3FG: 38.2%), 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.4 steals in 25 minutes.

When coach Sasa Obradovic took over the team, Diallo increased his numbers from 7.7 points (3FG: 27.8%), four rebounds, 0.8 assists, and one steal to 10.3 points (3FG: 40.8%), 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

Versatile forward was a vital piece behind the sensational Monaco playoff run, where the newcomers pushed 2nd-seeded Olympiacos Piraeus to a decisive Game 5.
