The French shooting guard Fabien Causeur has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign a new two-year contract, according to as.com.
Fabien Causeur's contract with Real ended this Thursday, June 30, but he will continue to play in Madrid per report, despite AS Monaco's interest in signing him.
Fabien Causeur averaged 8.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 6.7 PIR over 28 EuroLeague games last season. Real reached the EuroLeague final where but could not overcome Anadolu Efes Istanbul challenge.
Causeur and Real finished the 2021-22 season on a high note, winning the ACB League title by defeating FC Barcelona in the best-of-five final series, 3-1.
A few weeks ago the French guard said that he wants to finish his career by playing for Real Madrid but then Monaco's rumors surfaced.
"My dream is to finish my playing career at Real Madrid. Now we have to negotiate [for a new contract]. I hope to reach an agreement and stay here," Causeur told Onda Madrid.
