Maodo Lo will stay with ALBA Berlin until at least the end of the 2022-23 season, the German club announced.
Last season, the 28-year-old guard averaged 9.2 points, 2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 39 BBL and Cup games playing 19 minutes per game. In the EuroLeague, Lo appeared in 27 games for ALBA, averaging 9.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in just over 21 minutes per game. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo, he was also the top scorer and best passer of the German national team, which made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
"I am looking forward to the next two years with ALBA and especially to finally playing in front of our fans in Berlin again, if the situation allows it. It is very nice for me to be in my hometown, with my family and friends. After finishing last season with the championship, I am all the more looking forward to the future. I hope that we will continue to play so successfully and also grow in the EuroLeague," Maodo Lo pointed out.
ALBA Sporting Director Himar Ojeda expressed his feelings after the renewal of one of the team's cornerstones: "We are very pleased that Maodo has extended his contract with us. We believe that he fits perfectly into the team. It was obvious how well he adjusted to our style of play. Towards the end of the season, he really showed what great potential there is in him, and kept it up with the national team at the Olympics. It will be great to be able to continue working with him in the next few years."
