Former Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv guard Doron Perkins returns to the Israelian team.

Maccabi announced that Perkins, 38, will join Ioannis Sfairopoulos staff as an assistant coach.

"It's amazing to have the opportunity to return to Maccabi. I want to thank coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos, the management, and the entire club," Doron Perkins said to the club's official website after his signing. "I came with the goal of working hard and helping the team continue to succeed. It is an honor for me to be part of Maccabi again, to meet the fans and the wonderful community in Israel again."

Perkins played for Maccabi in 2009-2011 and racked two Israeli Super League Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2010 and 2011. However, the American guard didn’t win any trophies.

Later, in 2013 he became EuroLeague champion with Olympiacos Piraeus.
