Jalen Johnson opened up about the frustration of missing the second half of the season with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The Atlanta Hawks forward called it "the worst feeling in the world".
Jalen Johnson's 2024-25 season took a tough turn when he suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder, forcing him to miss the second half and leaving the Atlanta Hawks without one of their key young forwards down the stretch.
"That’s probably the worst feeling in the world, just not being able to be out there and go out to war with my guys," Johnson told Lauren Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, per Talkbasket.
The injury was a major blow for both Johnson and the Hawks. Known for his versatility and energy, Johnson’s absence was felt on both ends of the floor.
"It sucks, but sometimes you can’t control those things," he added.
Johnson’s mindset now is all about bouncing back stronger. He’s already setting his sights on being ready and available for next season, committed to being there for his team when it matters most.
"All I can do now is just do everything in my power for next year and play the whole season. That’s my goal, and I’m gonna do everything I can so I can be out there in those type of games with my teammates," the 23-year-old explained.
This year, Johnson managed to play only 36 games in which he averaged 18.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game.
