Nikola Jokic is expected to return during Denver's five-game homestand, though he'll likely miss the Monday game against Chicago, according to coach Michael Malone.
Denver Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic is expected to return during the team's upcoming five-game homestand, head coach Michael Malone said Sunday.
Jokic missed his fourth straight game in Denver's 116-111 win over the Houston Rockets due to a left ankle impingement. While he's not expected to play Monday against the Chicago Bulls, Malone remains optimistic about his return during the homestand.
"He's going to play in Denver, the five-game homestand," Malone stated. "He'll play at some point, hopefully in that five-game homestand. I don't think he'll play tomorrow [Monday]. We're just trying to get home and kind of see where he's at."
The Nuggets will also face Milwaukee on Wednesday, Utah on Friday, and Minnesota on April 1 before wrapping up the stretch against San Antonio the next night.

Jokic, a three-time NBA MVP, is averaging 29.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.3 assists over 62 games this season. Denver has gone 2-2 in his absence.
Previously, Jokic was dealing with an elbow injury.
The Serbian big man remains a top contender for MVP, alongside OKC's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
