Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant discussed his relationship and communication with head coach Mike Budenholzer during a media session at the team's practice.
Durant emphasized that his role is not to command or dictate what the coach should do but to offer suggestions that may help the team.
"I don't say, 'Coach, we've got to do this.' It's his team. I'm here to assist," Durant explained. "If he needs me to do anything, or if I have a suggestion on what might help, I’ll ask him. I’m not telling him what to do."
The Suns have had a tough season, struggling to meet the high expectations set before the year. Speculation about internal discord and dissatisfaction with the coach has been swirling, and it’s becoming increasingly apparent that the team may undergo significant changes this offseason.
Despite the challenges, the Suns are still holding onto playoff hopes, currently sitting at 32-37 in the Western Conference. They are just one game behind the Dallas Mavericks, who currently hold the final play-in spot.
