Lithuania is planning a friendly game against Luka Doncic and Slovenia on August 15 in Riga as part of their preparation for FIBA EuroBasket 2025, with the potential for the match to be hosted in Lithuania instead.
Lithuania is planning a pre-EuroBasket 2025 friendly game against Luka Doncic and Slovenia, according to Lukas Malinauskas of BasketNews.
The match is tentatively set for August 15 in Riga, Latvia, but the Lithuanian Basketball Federation (LKF) is considering hosting it in Lithuania instead.
While Latvia has officially announced friendly games against both Lithuania and Slovenia, the Lithuania-Slovenia matchup has yet to be confirmed.
Lithuania, Slovenia, and Latvia will gather in Riga from August 14 to 16 for a friendly tournament.
The preliminary schedule:
- August 14: Latvia vs. Lithuania
- August 15: Lithuania vs. Slovenia (to be finalized)
- August 16: Latvia vs. Slovenia
Doncic confirmed last December that he will represent Slovenia at EuroBasket 2025. Before heading to Latvia, Slovenia will also play two friendly games against reigning world champions Germany.
Lithuania plans to play six or seven warm-up games in preparation for the tournament, which will take place from August 27 to September 14 across Latvia, Cyprus, Finland, and Poland.
The EuroBasket draw ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, March 27, in Riga.
