LaVar Ball revealed that complications from diabetes led to his right leg amputation after three surgeries and four blood transfusions, admitting the ordeal took a heavy toll on him and even made him question if he wanted to keep going.
LaVar Ball opened up about his recent right leg amputation in his first interview since the procedure.
Speaking with SLAM, he revealed that complications from diabetes led to three surgeries and four blood transfusions, causing his health to decline rapidly starting in January.
The father of Lonzo, LaMelo, and LiAngelo admitted the ordeal took a serious toll on him -- so much so that he even questioned whether it was worth going through.
"It made me think, 'Man, just kill me and let me go about my business.' It made me think that maybe it's time for me to shut it down," LaVar said.
"But then seeing what my boys are doing out there, they're like, 'Dad you're the toughest dude I know.' That made me keep going," he added. "Even though I'm a bad man -- I don't need much -- it was good to have that backing from my boys. One of the things that makes me go is when they are all together. When they are all together, I feel strong."
Despite multiple surgeries, the 57-year-old has been in good spirits lately. He's been seen joking around on TikTok, even dancing in his chair and remixing song lyrics.
