Baskonia's forward Luka Samanic talked about Pablo Laso, Sarunas Jasikevicius and differences between G League and Euroleague
Luka Samanic looks like he finally has some consistency, as he found a safe place in his third team this season.
Starting the training camp for a few weeks with Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, Samanic was followed with a short stint in Cibona Zagreb, before joining Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Samanic talked to Basketball Sphere about numerous topics, starting with Pablo Laso:
"Pablo is super professional, and he's also a great man. The fact that he stayed that much in Real Madrid speaks a lot," Samanic started.
"I know we aren't playing that well lately but we lost 7-10 times in one-possesion games. Including Real game, had we scored closing free throws, Mario Hezonja wouldn't have shot that shot."
Samanic spoke about his experience with Sarunas Jasikevicius during his short time in Fenerbahce, claiming he would've been good in Istanbul had he stayed:
"Super experience, I feel bad it happened that way. Those two weeks were great, I felt very good in Sarunas' system."
"I think that if I stayed there, it would be a great story, but that's life. Now I'm in Baskonia, and I'm really happy."
Samanic also compared G League and his experience there with the Euroleague:
"G League is great to put you down to earth, everything is different. Traveling is similar to Europe, maybe a bit lesser level."
"When I remember Maine Celtics (Boston's affiliate), we had a serious squad, Denzel Valentine, Marial Shayok..."
"I think that team could win a few European teams, depending on the rules that would be used. It's tough to determine the difference between G League and Euroleague, but Celtics would have something to say."
