Mark Williams took a subtle shot at the LA Lakers after they failed his physical and backed out of their trade: "There's always peace when you know the truth."
Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams isn't letting the Los Angeles Lakers off the hook for failing his physical and backing out of their trade for him.
Less than 24 hours after helping Charlotte defeat the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena, Williams posted a cryptic message on Instagram:
"There's always peace when you know the truth," he wrote in the caption.
This has fueled speculation that the Lakers may have misjudged his condition.
Williams' agent, Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management, strongly pushed back against the LA Lakers' rescinded trade:
"The overwhelming sentiment, after conferring with multiple, nationally recognized doctors, is that the Los Angeles Lakers should not have failed Mark Williams on his physical," the agent explained.
"Mark was ready and able to play for them and should have been given that opportunity," Schwartz added.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka had reportedly approved the trade before any concerns about Williams' health were raised.
The proposed deal would have sent Williams to Los Angeles in exchange for Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, and draft picks.
Williams has played 24 games this season, averaging 15.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game. He had 10 points and nine rebounds in Wednesday night's 100-97 win over the Lakers.
After the failed Mark Williams trade, the Lakers signed center Alex Len in the free agency market.
