San Antonio Spurs All-Star Victor Wembanyama is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder, the team announced.

The condition was discovered when Wembanyama returned to San Antonio following his debut All-Star Game in San Francisco, per the same report.

He has a form of blood clot in his right shoulder, but the Spurs believe this is an isolated issue.

This season, Wembanyama became the fourth-youngest player to score 50 points in a game. Wemby has averaged 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 3.8 blocks per game.

At just 21 years old, the French phenom entered the 2024-25 season fresh off winning a silver medal with the national team at the Paris Olympics.

When comparing this season to his rookie year, where he played 71 games and was named NBA Rookie of the Year, Wembanyama has shown improvement across the board.

His points per game increased from 21.4 to 24.3, rebounds from 10.6 to 11.0, blocks from 3.6 to 3.8, field goal shooting improved from 46.5% to 47.6%, and three-point shooting rose from 32.5% to 35.2%.
