The Lakers have signed Alex Len but may still add another big man, with names like Kelly Olynyk, Larry Nance Jr., and Chris Boucher in the mix, though reports downplay their interest in Australian center Will Magnay.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been exploring frontcourt options, and according to Sam Vecenie of The Athletic, they might be keeping an eye on the international market as well.
One name to watch has been Australian center Will Magnay, who currently plays for the Tasmania JackJumpers in the NBL.
Vecenie noted that Magnay has an NBA out clause in his contract and has recently drawn some attention from NBA teams.
However, The Athletic's Jovan Buha downplayed the level of interest, saying on his podcast, "I haven't heard him necessarily linked to the Lakers outside of that."
The Lakers recently signed Alex Len, but they might not be done adding to their frontcourt.
Len could serve as a third center, meaning the team could still pursue another big man, with names like Kelly Olynyk, Larry Nance Jr., and Chris Boucher potentially in the mix.
To make room for another addition, the Lakers would need to waive another player, as they already cut Christian Wood to sign Len.
As for Magnay, the 26-year-old center went undrafted in 2018 after playing one season at Tulsa.
He won an NBL championship with Tasmania in 2024 and is currently averaging 13.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. His only NBA experience came during the 2020-21 season when he appeared in one game for the New Orleans Pelicans.
