The Charlotte Hornets themselves reached out to the Los Angeles Lakers regarding their need for a center.
The Los Angeles Lakers were desperate for a center after trading away Anthony Davis in a blockbuster deal for Luka Doncic. But apparently the search for a new big man wasn't as hard as it might've looked.
During the small conference before the game against the Warriors, Lakers vice president of basketball operations and GM Rob Pelinka said that Charlotte Hornets reached out to LA regarding their need for a center.
The Mark Williams trade was negotiated and agreed upon between the two sides in less than two days, when Hornets center was sent to LA for the Lakers rookie Daulton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a future first round pick and a pick swap.
Williams began the season injured before appearing in 23 games for the Hornets this season. He came back strong, averaging 15.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
