The Brooklyn Nets and Ben Simmons are in discussions about a potential contract buyout, which would make him a free agent. ESPN's Shams Charania reports that the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers are among the potential suitors for Simmons.

"Sources tell me Ben Simmons, the three-time All-Star, and the Brooklyn Nets are working on a potential contract buyout to make him a free agent," Charania reported.

At 28 years old, Simmons has averaged 6.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists over 33 games this season.

This year has been relatively healthy for him, especially compared to previous seasons marred by back injuries, surgeries, and injections.

Last season, he played only 15 games, appeared in 42 games during the 2022-23 season, and didn't play at all in the 2021-22 campaign.
