Per the EuroLeague's announcement, Hezonja will serve a 1-game suspension and will have to pay a €5,000 fine for lack of respect towards the referees.
However, the decision could be appealed. Therefore, it's not given that Hezonja will definitely miss the upcoming game against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul on Thursday.
Hezonja was ejected in the 4th quarter, with about six minutes to go, with Monaco up by 5 points, 65-60.
Referee Anne Panther wanted to check if Hezonja was bleeding and asked him to show his hands. Initially, she couldn't find any blood, but Panther spotted a small cut and instructed him to go to the bench to get it treated before returning.
Frustrated by having to leave the court for such a minor cut, the Croatian lost his temper and was ejected just moments later.
This season, Hezonja averages 15.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 14.9 PIR per game in 24 EuroLeague appearances.
