This year, the league will use a new format for the NBA All-Star Game.

Here's how the new setup will work:

  • Four teams will compete in a mini-tournament with three games.
  • Two teams will face off in the first semifinal (Game 1), while the other two teams will meet in the second semifinal (Game 2).
  • The winners of Game 1 and Game 2 will advance to the championship game (Game 3).
  • Each game will end when one team reaches 40 points.

The 24 NBA All-Stars will be divided into three teams of eight players, and there will be a winning squad of the Rising Stars.

Each All-Star team will be named after a TNT analyst and drafted by Inside the NBA commentators Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kenny Smith, who will serve as honorary team general managers.
