FC Barcelona head coach Joan Penarroya admitted on Wednesday that he doesn't expect the club to sign a replacement for point guard Nico Laprovittola this season.

This comes after the Blaugrana terminated Raul Neto's contract, who was initially brought in as Laprovittola's backup but struggled with repeated injuries. Additionally, the deal with Thomas Heurtel failed.

"It's been a topic for months now, and I have the feeling that no reinforcement will arrive," Penarroya said, Mundo Deportivo. "With the squad we have, we'll give everything, just as we've done so far, to achieve what our fans and the team want. Sometimes it will go well, sometimes it won't, but we'll give 100%."

Penarroya acknowledged that the roster is "clearly short" and carrying "a heavy workload" but emphasized the players' strong attitude and commitment.

He also confirmed that forward Justin Anderson and center Jan Vesely will miss Thursday's EuroLeague Round 24 game against Baskonia on the road.
