Adam Hanga retires from Hungarian national team after debuting for senior team 17 years ago.
Adam Hanga announced his retirement from the Hungarian national team after 17 years of representing the country. 35-year-old made his national team debut with a senior team in 2008.
Hanga was able to participate in two Eurobaskets during his time with the national team. In his Instagram post announcing his retirement, Hanga mentioned 2017 Eurobasket being his finest memory. It was Hanga's first time competing in major national team competition. The last championship they competed in before 2017, was 1999 European championship.
One of the best Hungarian basketball players in recent memory, Hanga thanked all of his teammates, fans and everybody who supported him throughout his journey.
"This has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I am endlessly grateful for the journey we have taken together," Hanga said.
"Every win, every challenge and every moment has shaped me not only as a player but as a person. The European Championship 2017 stands out in my memories, it was an incredible experience that I will cherish forever," Hanga remembered his journey with the national team.
Adam Hanga is still continuing his successful career and is currently playing for Joventut Badalona. 2023 Euroleague champion with Real Madrid, spent majority of his career playing in Spain. Playing for teams like Baskonia, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.
