Kevin Durant spoke about January, and February being a toughest time for teams in the NBA, and commented on why he loves this part of the year.
The Phoenix Suns had a pretty grueling schedule in the last 19 days. They played 11 games in this stretch, of which 8 they were playing away from home. The Suns finished their 5-game road trip with a win against the Brooklyn Nets 108-84.
Kevin Durant spoke to the media after the game against the Nets. He explained why he enjoys playing in such a tough schedule, mentioning how hard it is to get through this part of the season for the majority of the teams.
“Wish our record was better, obviously, you want to win every game, but that's why I love this part of the year,” Durant said via AZCentral's Duane Rankin. “It's just non-stop games. You don't get a lot of practices. It's not a lot of lag time. Game, day off, game and I love that part.”
“Every other night is a game. The end of January, February right before the break is the toughest time for a lot of teams in this league. If you can get through this pretty solid, healthy, in good shape, you can pretty much have a solid second half of the season,” KD emphasized the importance of this part of the season.
Winning 3 games during this 5-game road trip helped the Suns to stay in Play-in position, currently, they’re tenth in the standings with a 22-21 record. They are only one win behind Mavericks and Timberwolves who’ve played one game more than the Suns.
