Edy Tavares led Real Madrid to a double OT win over Barca in the Spanish derby in a performance that earned him the MVP award for Round 12.

The Cape Verdean center helped Real Madrid snatch a big win after double overtime (97-90), which was the sixth for his team this season.
Tavares recorded 24 points and 18 rebounds, to which he added a pair of blocks, a steal and one assist for a PIR of 39. Thus, Tavares became the first Real Madrid player this year to win the accolade, and also the only one to record such a high PIR.
Very close to Tavares came Nikola Mirotic. The Spanish-Montenegrin power forward shone in Milan's victory over Fenerbahce (91-85) in Istanbul and against his former FC Barcelona coach, Sarunas Jasikevicius. Mirotic put up 29 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals, for a PIR of 38.
AS Monaco forward Alpha Diallo completed the podium of best performances in Round 12, thanks to his all-around contribution to his team's victory against Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens (91-88). Diallo, who had briefly joined Panathinaikos before being released in 2021, had 24 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and a pair of assists, for a total PIR of 35.
