Los Angeles Lakers rookie Dalton Knecht had the game of his short NBA career against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. He also matched a league record.

Knecht scored 37 points on 12-for-16 shooting, making 9 triples in 12 attempts.  This feat matched an NBA rookie record, which was previously reached by three other players.

Former Dallas Mavericks guard Rodrigue Beaubois set the record in 2010, making 9 threes in 11 attempts against the Golden State Warriors.

Seven years later, another former Maverick Yogi Ferrell repeated the same feat, but against the Portland Trail Blazers. The most recent edition of the record was reached on February 15th, 2024, when Utah Jazz's rookie Keyonte George made 9 three-pointers in 16 attempts against the Warriors as well.

Beaubois was the highest-scorer out of the four, recording 40 points in the matchup.

Overall, Knecht is averaging 11.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game for the Lakers this season.
