Shams Charania suggests that the 2025-26 NBA season could be LeBron James' last, though his son Bryce might inspire him to play a bit longer.
The future of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has always been a hot topic in NBA circles. On Thursday, ESPN's Shams Charania weighed in on the possibility of the NBA legend retiring soon.
"My sense is next season could potentially be his last season in the NBA," Charania told Stephen A. Smith on First Take. "Maybe Bryce James keeps him around an extra year or two. But I do think next season, All-Star game in Los Angeles, there might be some good momentum there for that."
LeBron, who will turn 40 this December, shows no signs of slowing down.
In his 22nd season, he's still delivering impressive stats with averages of 24.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 9.4 assists per game. The Lakers currently hold a 7-4 record, placing them sixth in the Western Conference standings.
