"I need to make an announcement because I feel like my voice is getting silenced. Every day, shit is being thrown my way," he said. "I've been mistreated and abused. Neglected. Made into a mental example. I fear for my life. Everyday."

Singler, now 36, also expressed deep frustration, stating, "My community is f**ked."

Among those who reached out to him was Miami Heat's Kevin Love, who commented, "I love you, Kyle. Hit me whenever. Please."

"We love you, bro!!!" two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas added on IG.

Many fans also offered support and encouraged Singler to seek help.

"To everyone who has spent time with Kyle Singler and whose lives he has touched - please shower him with the love and support he needs+deserves," Kevin Love later shared on X. "I would not be who I am today without him. I am forever indebted and love him. To the NBA family, Duke BB family, & South Medford community - let's show up for one of our own."

Singler retired in 2019 after a stint with CB Canarias in Spain. Prior to playing in Europe, he spent six years in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons and Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds over 356 games.
