AS Monaco swingman Furkan Korkmaz was watching from the sidelines how his team suffered a 1-point loss against Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday.

The Turkish international missed his 6th EuroLeague game in a row after suffering an injury in the opening matchup against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan.

"So, when I suffered the injury, [the recovery] was expected to take 4 weeks," Korkmaz told BasketNews on Friday. "I think we are on the final wrap. So, hopefully, I will be playing soon, but I don't know how many days [it will take]."

Korkmaz's wish came true just a couple of days later, as he made his return in the French League win against Gravelines-Dunkirk.

In 16 minutes of action on Sunday, Korkmaz accumulated 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 EFF.

"It's gonna be different aspects of the game," Korkmaz explained how he expects to contribute to the team. "Sometimes, I'm gonna do my support with the shooting. Sometimes, it's going to be maybe creating for my teammates. Sometimes, it will be defensively, sometimes – offensively."

After being waived by the Indiana PacersBesiktas were reportedly interested in Korkmaz, but eventually, he finished the season without a team.

Before his move to the NBA, Korkmaz played for Anadolu Efes Istanbul for three seasons. So, was there a possibility for him to join the Turkish club this summer?
