For the first time in his career, Davis managed to break the "Sabonis curse," grabbing his first-ever win against Kings' center Domantas Sabonis, who had won all ten of their previous matchups.

"He is a helluva player. All-Star, and there's a whole Netflix show about him," Davis said of Sabonis. "He's one of the premier bigs in this league. I just tried to be aggressive, and we got a team win tonight."

On Saturday night, Davis became the first Laker since Kobe Bryant in 2005-06 to kick off the season with three consecutive 30-point games, finishing the game with 31 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Sabonis, on the other hand, led the Kings with a triple-double: 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Throughout their matchups (now at 11 games), Davis has averaged 23.8 points and 10.6 rebounds, while Sabonis has posted 14.7 points, 10.7 boards, and 5.0 assists.

The Lakers are off to a strong start with three wins in three games, while the Kings are still searching for their first victory of the season after dropping their first two.
