Real Madrid will be hosts to Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade in EuroLeague Round 2 this week. Walter Tavares talked with SportKlub about expectations for his team, and atmospheres in Belgrade and Greece.
Real Madrid are preparing for EuroLeague Round 2 against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade after winning 101-95 against Zaragoza in last week's Liga ACB encounter.
Walter Tavares talked to SportKlub, emphasizing that quickness will be important for Real to get past this season:
"I expect that we start in good rhythm, to be able to get best position we can as soon as possible, just like we did last season. I expect us to be on the right path from the very beginning."
Tavares also added he loves playing in environments that Belgrade and Athens possess, making it unique experience in Europe.
"I think as a player, you're feeling blessed when you play in front of that crowd. You especially feel that playing in a packed arena of people supporting your rivals."
"If we had that atmosphere in every hall every game would be a party, for me it's one of the best days when we arrive in Belgrade or Greece."
Real Madrid will host Partizan on Thursday in Round 2 after narrowly losing to Bayern Munich, as Partizan will also try to recover after their loss against Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz.
