AS Monaco have appealed a French League sanction that fined the club €20,000 and deducted one win ahead of the 2024-25 season for failing to disclose an image rights payment in Mike James' contract.
AS Monaco have officially appealed the sanction imposed by the LNB on August 29.
The club, confident that it has not violated any rules, is committed to defending its position and will continue to cooperate closely with the relevant authorities throughout the process.
On August 29, the French League issued a press release announcing that Monaco had been fined €20,000 and docked one win ahead of the 2024-25 season for failing to disclose payment of image rights in Mike James' new contract.
According to reports from AFP, James' deal included an image rights payment to FedCom Media, which was not communicated to the league.
LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne faced a similar sanction in March 2023 for the same issue. In ASVEL's case, the initial penalty of two deducted wins was reduced to one.
