Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens brought in three big-name players this offseason - Lorenzo Brown, Omer Yurtseven, and lastly, Cedi Osman. A few days after the last signing, the team's budget for the upcoming year was revealed.
According to SDNA, Panathinaikos will have a combined budget of €50 million this season, with €35 million dedicated to team expenses, including player and staff salaries, travel expenses, accommodation, etc.
An additional €15 million will be devoted to the renovation of the OAKA arena in Athens, which was handed to Panathinaikos in 2023 for the next 49 years. The initial cost associated with the project was expected to be €14.7 million but increased by a few percent.
Panathinaikos are expected to sell naming rights of the OAKA in the future, SDNA notes, which would bring an additional yearly revenue stream. Regardless, the current expenses are significantly higher than the club's revenue, the news outlet writes.
