Memphis Grizzlies forward GG Jackson II has suffered a significant setback ahead of the upcoming season.
According to Shams Charania, Jackson broke his right foot while playing basketball outside of Dallas on August 27.
The Grizzlies confirmed the injury and stated that Jackson will need to undergo surgery to repair the damage.
The 19-year-old forward, who was selected in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft, averaged 14.6 points, 1.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 48 games for Memphis last season.
The timeline for his recovery and return to the court will be determined following the surgery.
