Aleksa Avramovic, who drew interest from the Atlanta Hawks, will not play in the NBA next season.
Despite reported interest from the NBA and an opportunity to exercise an NBA exit clause by August 20, Serbian guard Aleksa Avramovic will continue his career in Europe.
As the deadline for joining the strongest league in the world expires today, it has been confirmed by Bojan Brezovac of Mozzart Sport that Avramovic will not be crossing the Atlantic.
Although the Atlanta Hawks showed interest and inquired about him, no concrete offer materialized.
As a result, Avramovic has already booked a flight to Moscow, where he will begin preparations with his new team next Monday.
Avramovic recently played a crucial role in helping Serbia secure a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. His outstanding defensive performance earned him FIBA's Best Defensive Player honors.
The 29-year-old averaged 10.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.7 steals, and 12.8 EFF across six Olympic appearances. This is his second medal with the national team, having previously won silver at the FIBA World Cup in 2023.
Avramovic spent the last three seasons with Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade.
