Team USA attracted the largest crowds in the Olympic Basketball Tournament's group stage, followed by Japan and Australia, while host nation France ranked fourth in attendance.
The first stage of the Olympic Basketball Tournament, held at Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, has concluded. As the playoffs begin, the Olympic games will move to the Bercy Arena in Paris, which can hold 20,300 spectators.

Unsurprisingly, star-studded Team USA drew the largest crowds. Each of their games attracted over 27,000 fans, with an average attendance of 27,209.
The U.S. played in the top three most attended matches, drawing 27,328 fans against Serbia, 27,056 against South Sudan, and 27,244 against Puerto Rico.
The only other game to bring in over 27,000 fans was a Group C game between South Sudan and Puerto Rico, which had 27,021 attendees.

Host nation France ranked fourth in attendance, averaging 26,842 fans per game. They were preceded by Australia with 26,940 and Japan with 26,913, in addition to the United States.
The only match to draw fewer than 20,000 spectators was a Round 2 game between Serbia and Puerto Rico, watched by 17,882 fans.
This placed Serbia last in overall attendance, averaging 22,042 fans per game, while Puerto Rico ranked second to last with an average of 24,049.
