Los Angeles Lakers star Rui Hachimura was ejected from Japan's second game in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

With 8:31 left in the fourth quarter and France leading 72-70, Hachimura received his second unsportsmanlike foul for pulling down Rudy Gobert's arm during a layup attempt.

After a review, the referees ruled the foul as unsportsmanlike.

Before his exit, Hachimura scored 24 points (7/11 on 2-point shots, 3/5 on 3-point shots, and 1/2 on free throws) and grabbed 3 rebounds in 28 minutes of play.

Japan lost their first game against Germany 77-97, while Hachimura had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Japan was close to a win over France on Match Day 2, but the European powerhouse made a miraculous escape in the regulation and then won in overtime 94-90.
