According to Jordi Valle Simo, Rubio accepted Joventut's offer and will return to his boyhood club. The report was confirmed by multiple other Spanish outlets.

This marks Rubio's return to the place where it all started for a Spanish point guard in 2005 and his first season in the EuroCup since 2008.

Last season, Rubio joined FC Barcelona in February, coming back to basketball after taking a short break so he could focus on his mental health.

Rubio averaged 17 minutes, 4.7 points, 4,3 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 8.0 PIR per game in 13 EuroLeague appearances for Barcelona in the 2023-24 season.
