Leandro Bolmaro has signed a multi-year deal with Olimpia Milan after playing one season with Bayern Munich.
EA7 Emporio Armani Milan announced the signing of Leandro Bolmaro on a multi-year deal, without revealing any more details about the duration of the agreement.
The Argentinian guard, 23, spent last year with FC Bayern Munich, where he averaged 8.4 points and 3.4 assists in the EuroLeague over 30 appearances, 28 of them as a starter. He won the German title, averaging 7.7 points and 2.8 assists per game, and the German Cup.
"I'm really excited about the challenge that awaits me; I'm incredibly happy to join a big club like Olimpia Milan," the player said.
"I will try to do my best to help the team and this great organization reach the peaks that they deserve. I can't wait to start the new season and play with my new teammates and for coach Ettore Messina."
Bolmaro started playing for Almafuerte, in Las Varillas, a city in the province of Cordoba, Argentina. In 2017 he moved to Bahia Blanca to play for Estudiantes. After a year, Bolmaro moved again to Barcelona who in turn used him in the second team in Spain (10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists on average).
In 2019-20 he played both with the first team and with the reserves (14.9 points and 3.6 assists on average). In the 2020-21 season, he played steadily with the first team with 30 EuroLeague appearances including the Final Four in Cologne and 33 in the ACB with 6.4 points per game, 45.3% on three-pointers.
In 2020-21, he won both the Copa del Rey and the Spanish league. At the end of that season, he exercised the option to exit the contract and move to the NBA to Minnesota who had acquired his rights after the 2020 draft (he was chosen at number 23 by New York). Bolmaro played two years in the NBA first at Minnesota and then at Utah with 49 appearances on the court.
