Unfortunate news for the French national team as Anadolu Efes Istanbul big man Vincent Poirier will miss the 2024 Paris Olympics.

According to an official announcement from Team France Basket, Poirier suffered a left ankle injury, and it was decided after tests that he would have to sit out the Olympics.

The center will not be replaced by another player.

Even after Poirier's unfortunate injury, France still have names like Victor Wembanyama, Rudy Gobert, and Mathias Lessort in its frontcourt.

In the 2023-24 season with Real Madrid, Poirier averaged 9 points and 5.3 rebounds in the EuroLeague.
