The forward decided not to activate his $4 million option, and together with the Heat, he is expected to negotiate a new deal, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

As Love becomes a free agent, it appears that he will draw up a new contract with the Miami Heat.

The veteran player has been with the Miami Heat since the start of the 2022-23 season. Aged 35, this is Love's third team in the NBA. He previously had long stints with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers.

This year, Love averaged 8.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
