Barcelona announced that Sergi Martinez, Rafa Villar, and Agustin Ubal left the club after their contracts expired.
FC Barcelona parted ways with Sergi Martinez, Rafa Villar, and Agustin Ubal after the club decided not to exercise the contract option for the 2024-25 season.
Martinez spent the 2023-24 season on loan in Girona, where he averaged 6.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 9.9 EFF per game in 31 appearances in the Spanish ACB League.
In his last stint in Barcelona during the 2022-23 campaign, the 25-year-old averaged 1.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.6 PIR per game in 15 EuroLeague appearances.
His debut came in the 2019-20 season in an ACB League match against Gran Canaria. He became a first-team player in the 2021-22 season.
Wearing a Blaugrana shirt, Martinez played 83 games in the Liga Endesa, with an average of 13 minutes and 2.5 points per game. In the Euroleague, he played 65 games with 10 minutes of play per game.
With Barca's first basketball team, he has won two Endesa League titles (2021 and 2023) and two Copa del Rey trophies (2021 and 2022).
The 19-year-old Villar trained in the lower categories of the Blaugrana system, making his debut with the first team during the 2021-22 season in a Euroleague game, scoring two points against Zalgiris Kaunas.
Villar played his first minutes in the Endesa League against Baxi Manresa in the 2022-23 season. With the first team, he has played three games in the Spanish top division. Villar has played on loan at Forca Lleida of LEB Or since December 2022.
The 20-year-old Ubal reached the lower categories of the Blaugrana team in the 2020-21 season and made his debut with the first team in the 2021-22 season at Betis.
Dressed as Blaugrana, Ubal played four matches in the Liga Endesa and one match in the top European competition. During his time at Barca, he made his debut with the Uruguayan national team and has become a regular national team player.
He went out on loan to Breogan in March 2022 and has also played on loan in Bilbao (2022-23) and Palencia (2023-24).
