With Lorenzo Brown, Wade Baldwin, Bonzie Colson and Josh Nebo on their way out, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv are in search of players for the new season. Several reports have linked Levi Randolph to the Israeli powerhouse.

The American shooting guard (1.96 m.) is under contract with Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, however his deal includes a EuroLeague buyout. Last season, the 31-year-old guard averaged 16.5 points (40.9% on three-pointers), 3.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 28.4 minutes across all competitions. In the last two seasons, Randolph was an All-BCL Second Team selection.

During a press conference, where new head coach Yonatan Alon and GM Dan Shamir were presented, Hapoel Jerusalem owner Matan Adelson commented on Randolph's imminent departure.

"First of all, when we said to compete with them for players, we were not talking about just now but every summer, competing with them on the court," Adelson said.

"Not only does he have a strong character, being loyal to his values, but he is also a leader who contributed a lot to this organization as a professional," he praised Randolph.

"Losing him is a blow, but if he signs with Maccabi Tel Aviv it will be a hard blow. They won that battle, congratulations. We need to strike back. I make mistakes every day, but what I promise is that I won't make the same mistake twice," Adelson emphasized.

Jerusalem's owner commented on the club's decision to move to the EuroCup for the upcoming season after six years in the BCL.

"It was an important decision to stay in the Champions League last year, and it was not the right decision," the American-Jewish investor pointed out.

"From a professional point of view, we want to reach the EuroLeague, and we realized that we don't want to do it again. We want to reach the goal and we decided that this is the right time.

We want to win the EuroCup, the budget is increasing year by year and obviously we want to win. Statistically, we are only one of 20 teams, but we will do everything to make it happen," Adelson concluded.
