Jerry West died at 86.
The Clippers announced that NBA legend Jerry West passed away this morning at the age of 86.

During his 14-year playing career with the Los Angeles Lakers, West became synonymous with brilliant basketball. He was the third player in league history to reach 25,000 points, following Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson.
West was an All-Star every year of his career and led Los Angeles to the NBA Finals nine times. Despite being on the losing team in 1969, he is the only player in NBA history to be named Finals MVP.
West became an NBA champion in 1972.
Nicknamed "the Logo," his silhouette is the basis for the NBA logo.
In 1980, West was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and named to the NBA 35th Anniversary Team. He was later honored as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history in 1996 and named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.
West held NBA career averages of 27.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists over 932 games.
He also won gold in the Rome Olympics in 1960 with Team USA.
After his playing career ended, West coached the Lakers for three years, leading them to the playoffs each year and earning a Western Conference Finals berth once.
He then worked as a player scout for three years before becoming the general manager of the Lakers before the 1982–83 NBA season. Under his leadership, Los Angeles won six championship rings.
In 2002, West became general manager of the Memphis Grizzlies, helping the franchise win their first-ever playoff berths. For his contributions, West won the NBA Executive of the Year Award twice: once as a Lakers manager in 1995 and again as a Grizzlies manager in 2004.
