Los Angeles Lakers will no longer be coached by Darvin Ham.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Ham was notified a "short time ago" of the decision by Rob Pelinka, the general manager of the Lakers, over a phone call.

At the moment, the Lakers are already deep in search of a replacement. Mike Budenholzer, Kenny Atkinson, JJ Redick, and Tyronn Lue are among the candidates to lead the Lakers, per Shams Chanaria and Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

Ham's sacking was possibly a long time coming. It was reported in April that the team's players had stopped listening to the American specialist as early as February 2024.

The Lakers were eliminated 4-1 by the Denver Nuggets this season, suffering an early exit to the post-season.
