Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch will undergo surgery after suffering from a right knee injury.
Unfortunate news for the Minnesota Timberwolves as the team's head coach, Chris Finch, will undergo surgery after suffering a right knee injury.
According to ESPN, Finch will require surgery to repair a right patellar tendon and will undergo the procedure on Wednesday.
As a result, it is not known whether he will be able to be at the head of the team in the first game against the Denver Nuggets in the second post-season series.
If he is not able to make a physical appearance, assistant coach Micah Nori will take over Game 1 on April 4, Saturday with Finch assisting from the locker room, according to the same source.
Finch picked up his injury after a collision with Mike Conley in Game 3 vs. the Phoenix Suns. Conley was dribbling down the sideline and bumped into Devin Booker before colliding with his head coach. Finch was knocked down and grabbed his right knee after the collision.
The Timberwolves coach had finished third in the Coach of the Year award this year.
