Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns is slated to return before the end of the NBA regular season.
Karl-Anthony Towns, a star of the Minnesota Timberwolves, is likely to return before the end of the regular season in the NBA.
According to Shams Chanaria and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Towns will return in one of the two remaining games: versus Atlanta Hawks (April 12) and versus Phoenix Suns (April 14), all in local time.
Wojnarowski states that Towns is not looking to return versus the Denver Nuggets, a game which will take place on March 10 local time.
The center had suffered a torn meniscus on his left knee in early March and was forced to undergo surgery. However, his rehab has progressed well, per Chanaria.
Towns's return can have serious implications for the post-season as he is one of the team's most dominant offensive forces. He has averages of 22.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3 assists per game.
As for the Timberwolves, with a record of 55-24, they are in 1st place in the Western Conference.
