According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the guard suffered a medial collateral ligament (MCL) tear on his right knee and will be out for 4-6 weeks.

Monk will be out for the remainder of the regular season and may only make his return if the Kings make it to the NBA playoffs. At the moment, they are ranked 8th in the Western Conference with a record of 42-31.

Before coming to Sacramento, Monk has played for the Charlotte Hornets (2017-2021) and the Los Angeles Lakers (2021-22). At the end of that season, he moved to the Kings, where he has remained since then.

The American has been having the best season of his career before his injury, averaging 15.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game with the Kings jersey.
