Dyson Daniels will undergo knee surgery for a meniscus tear, with a four-week re-evaluation period.
The New Orleans Pelicans have announced that guard Dyson Daniels will undergo surgery for a meniscus tear in his left knee. He is set to be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Daniels, a 20-year-old Australian guard, was drafted eighth overall in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Before joining the NBA, he had a stint with NBA G League Ignite. Despite his young age, Daniels has been a solid rotation player for the Pelicans this season, averaging 21.9 minutes, 5.5 points, and 1.4 steals per game.
Daniels has been among the Top 10 players in the NBA for steals.
Alongside Jonas Valanciunas, he was one of the few Pelicans to participate in the first 52 regular-season games of the 2023-24 season.
