Anunoby underwent surgery to remove a loose bone fragment in his right elbow.
The New York Knicks will have to play without one of their main players for some time.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN, OG Anunoby underwent surgery to remove a loose bone fragment in his right elbow. As a result, the forward will be sidelined for a minimum of three weeks.
Anunoby tried resting, but surgery was determined to be the best solution in the player's position, Wojnarowski adds.
The 26-year-old forward got into the record books earlier this season after getting traded from the Toronto Raptors. Anunoby registered an NBA-record +111 plus-minus during his first five games on a new team, shattering the previous record.
Anunoby has been averaging 15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game this season.
