In a general assembly of the club that was called after a string of disappointing results in the EuroLeague, particularly with the loss to ALBA Berlin, the numbers were revealed.
"Crvena Zvezda has already earned 3.3 million euros gross from season tickets, and with the sale of daily tickets, the club has so far earned more than 4.5 million euros gross," explained the club.
"[This] is the club's biggest profit from this financial segment in the club's history. The club's projection at the beginning of the season was 5 million euros for the entire season," the statement revealed, implying that fan interest has been a lot higher than previously expected.
In addition, the club stated that it was paying value-added tax and dealing with outstanding debt to players and staff.
Finally, the assembly stood behind Ioannis Sfairopoulos and the team despite recent disappointments.
This year, the team has a record of 9-14 and currently inhabits the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth places with FC Bayern Munich and Anadolu Efes Istanbul.
